What is Gestalt therapy?

Gestalt is a German word that roughly translates as “whole” solid, organized, complete. This whole in you is a physical, biological, psychological, or symbolic configuration or pattern of elements that is unified as a whole.

Where you are not feeling whole or completed, you are left with an unfinished situation. This unfinished situation presses and presses and wants to be completed, to be whole.

Imagine living a solid, complete, fulfilling life now.

Gestalt is an experiential psychotherapy, developed by Dr. Fritz Perls (1893-1970), where we get hold of, and always start with, where you are in time and where you are in place. In the purest application, Gestalt psychotherapy dialogue addresses only what is happening in the moment.

Through creative experiments you will come to understand “now”, “present”, and “awareness” and discover what happens.

I invite you to “be here now”

The technique that lets you experience and stay with the now is the Gestalt Cycle of Awareness. The cycle is discovering and becoming fully aware of each actual experience.

Through your sessions, you will become aware of where you interrupt your Gestalt cycle, which prevented maturation, prevented therapy from becoming successful, prevented relationships from becoming richer and deeper and inner conflicts from becoming solved, becoming whole.

Gestalt psychotherapy’s goal is to help you live fully as you.
